Ever get that feeling when you want to leave everything and runaway? To leave all your worries, miseries, commitments, responsibilities and just head off to some place where no one can find you. Every once in a while or may be even more I get that feeling. Especially when I am surrounded by too many things, when I do not have time to breathe or when I want something so hard that I am just tired of trying hard.
Feeling that way is not necessarily bad. You do not have to hate yourself for thinking of leaving your family and friends and running away. There is lot of things that we do in our daily lives that stresses us physically, mentally and emotionally. Life has become more competitive than before. Getting a job was far easier 30yrs back than now and even after you get the job, competitiveness doesn’t end.
I remember when I was 4yrs old; my parents forgot that they needed to get me admitted into kindergarten. I was always their little girl and they did not realize that I had grown and it was time for me to leave home and go to school :). So just a week before the classes started they took me to the school nearby and requested the principle to admit me. At that time, I had no prior training and had no clue whatsoever as to what I would do in school.
That was 25yrs back. Now there is a huge interview process even for a 3 yr old to join pre kindergarten. What next they might start interview even before the baby is born – measure a child’s IQ using the ultrasound???
Anyway coming back to running away, sometimes running away gives you the opportunity to get back on track. It not only gets you the much needed break that you deserved but you also get time to think on what you can do to make your life better. A lot of times when I am stuck coding some complicated program which I had been trying to resolve for hours, I just take a break, get some fresh air and when I get back I have the solution with me.
That’s the power of free mind. When you leave everything and go, you are in turn freeing your mind from all the worries and stress. It fills your body with positive energy and once that is done – your mind is ready to start processing information again in a better positive way.
